Molecular engineering of a thermostable carbohydrate binding module.
A Workbench for Multibody Systems ODE and DAE Solvers
During the last three decades, a vast variety of methods to numerically solve ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and differential algebraic equations (DAEs) has been developed and investigated. Few of them met industrial standards and even less are available within industrial multibody simulation software. Multibody Systems (MBS) offer a challenging class [5] of applications for these methods,
Cost-conscious manufacturing – Models and methods for analyzing present and future performance from a cost perspective
Manufacturing is an industry in which the effects of globalization are obvious. Manufacturing costs are a key factor in this respect and affect, for example, decisions about offshoring, i.e., moving production abroad. If Sweden and other Western countries are to maintain large manufacturing sectors, they must be competitive, making cost one of the most critical parameters. The work presented here
Predictive design analysis utilizing ansys in an internet environment
During recent years the increasing power of computers and communications has led to the development and use of more advanced analysis techniques. Design of Experiment (DOE) has been used together with Finite Element (FE) analysis software such as ANSYS, see e.g. Johnson and Heald (1998) and Eriksson et al. (1998). Predictive Design Analysis (PDA) is an mechanical engineering design, or design for

Use and evaluation of simulation for software process education: a case study
Software Engineering is an applied discipline and concepts are difficult to grasp only at a theoretical level alone. In the context of a project management course, we introduced and evaluated the use of software process simulation (SPS) based games for improving students’ understanding of software development processes. The effects of the intervention were measured by evaluating the students’ argu

A Positive Feedback Passive Mixer-First Receiver Front-End
This paper presents a technique to reduce the noise figure of a passive mixer-first receiver front-end. By using lower than 50Ω switch resistance in the current-mode passive mixer and introducing a positive feedback from baseband to the RF-input, it can be well matched close to fLO while achieving a noise figure below 3dB, which is otherwise a fundamental limit. A quadrature front-end prototype fo

Measurement Considerations for a Phased Array Beamforming Transmitter
Measurement aspects on a digital beamforming transmitter are addressed. A calibration and steering procedure for the beamforming transmitter is implemented in LabView. After calibration any beam direction can be achieved within a few clock cycles by switching in a digital control word. A reference horn antenna is built to characterize the transmitter and achieves an S11 less than -8 dB in the freq
