Artificial neural networks classify myocardial perfusion images

Sjukdomen går att behaIn the studies of this thesis, a method for automated classification of myocardial perfusion images was successfully developed and evaluated. The results show that the method, based on artificial neural networks, was equally good, or even better than human experts. It was also found that physicians interpreting myocardial perfusion images benefit from the advice of the artificial neural networks.

The Great Trajanic Frieze. The Study of a Monument and of the Mechanisms of Message Transmission in Roman Art

The Great Trajanic Frieze is a Monument firmly entranched in the tradition of Graeco-Roman art.The study of the different components of its imagery, such as composition, iconography and antiquarian details, reveals how it transmits and transforms this tradition. The imagery reveals itself as conscentiously structured to present and repeat a limited set of concepts to the viewer. The book also pres

NMR Diffusion Studies of Association in Surfactant Systems Inclusion Complexes, Micellar Solutions and Microemulsions

The aim of this thesis has been to investigate self-diffusion behavior of host-guest complex, microemulsion and polymer solution. Pulsed Field Gradient NMR (PFG-NMR) was shown to provide detailed molecular information in all system studied. The general strategy was to measyre the diffusivities of the species and from there get molecular insight into the aggregation and dynamics of the system.

Studies of Long-lived Radionuclides in the Environment - with Emphasis on 99Tc, 237Np and Pu Isotopes

Studies of the long-lived anthropogenic radionuclides 99Tc, 237Np, 239Pu and 240Pu were performed in marine and terrestrial areas contaminated by different accidental and controlled releases of radioactive materials. The three main sources discussed in this thesis are nuclear weapons tests, nuclear reprocessing plants and the Chernobyl accident. Results are mainly based on measurements of environm

Endothelial Barrier Dysfunction in Multiple Organ Injury. An Experimental Study in Rats

MODS kan uppkomma vid primära infektioner i buken typ inflammation och perforation (bristning) av någon del av magtarmkanalen, akut bukspottkörMultiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) is still the leading cause of mortality in the surgical intensive care unit. The effect on among others endothelial barrier permeability, reticuloendothelial function, organ function and protease-antiprotease activities was studied following a variety of challenges, especially over-activation of macrophages induced by intraperitoneal administration of zym

Algebraic Dependence of Commuting Elements in Algebras

The aim of this paper to draw attention to several aspects of the algebraic dependence in algebras. The article starts with discussions of the algebraic dependence problem in commutative algebras. Then the Burchnall-Chaundy construction for proving algebraic dependence and obtaining the corresponding algebraic curves for commuting differential operators in the Heisenberg algebra is reviewed.
