The fatigue behavior of laminated veneer lumber (Douglas-fir) subjected to shearstress has been studied. Acoustic emission is the response to the application of stress. Two sensors were attached to the setup to measure acoustic emission as a voltage. The beams were loaded until rupture in four point bending. Lab VIEW® continuously took readings of load, deflection, acoustic emission, date and time and saved all data on a hard drive.
The report includes a study where stress-laminated and nail-laminated wood decks are compared, with respect to deflection, static and dynamic springiness. The deck is built up of 22 pieces 45 mm wide, 170 mm high and 7000 mm long wood joists. (Swedish).

A study of shear capacity in vertically reinforced masonry beams beeing exposed to a concentrated force. The aim of the design was to get shear failure and thus get information regarding the method of reinforcing. The vertically reinforced beams were compared to a reference beam made of common bricks. The method can be used to bridge larger openings in structural masonry walls.

Concrete slabs were east on different ground materials to investigate frietian between the concrete and the ground. Frietian curves are non-linear and bilinear approximations were used to simplify them. This study shows different methods to create the bilinear approximation. Coefficient of frietian depends upon the normal load and the ground materials.
