Energy Behaviour: Does generation matter?

Experiences early in life strongly shape values, attitudes and behaviour and serve as reference points ever after. Those who grew up in a society where resources are scarce may behave differently in an affluent society than those who got used to affluence even as children. This hypothesis was tested among 600 households in a major Swedish city who responded to questions about energy related behavi

Text-to-intonation in spontaneous Swedish

This paper deals with a number of aspects of intonation in spontaneous dialogues in a language technology perspective. The key topics to be addressed are: I) the analysis of global intonation and its interaction with textual structure, II) the implementation of global and textual aspects of discourse intonation in an analysis-by-synthesis environment. We present models for the analyses of intonati

Early structural and metamorphic evolution of the Scandinavian Caledonides: a study of the eclogite-bearing Seve Nappe Complex at the Arctic Circle, Sweden

In the Seve Nappe Complex of the Swedish Caledonides, coronitic diabases pass into eclogites; sometimes the transition occurs within one and the same boudin. Calculated pressure-temperature conditions for the eclogite facies stage are 20-27 kbar and 650-750°. Protolith corona-dolerite dykes share the T-MORB signature with the rift-dolerites of the Sarek and Särv Nappes, indicating similar origin.

A contextual understanding of educational phenomena

In this paper some general characteristics of a contextual understanding of educational phenomena is outlined. The outline is suggested against the background of previous phenomenographic research and a recent interdisciplinary phenomenographic project on university physics students’ use of language in expressing their understanding of cases of physical motion. The theoretical approach suggested i

Organised behaviour in the Swedish fire and rescue service - a case study

Organised behaviour in disaster can be distinguished by looking at the organisation's post disaster structure and tasks. While past research seemingly has taken a multi-organisational perspective we have used organised behaviour as analytical tool in a case study of the Swedish fire and rescue service to focus on analysing one organisation and sub organisations within this. We argue that different
