Multi theoretical perspectives in an abductive action research study

This paper describes an ongoing abductive research process with two researchers, with different educational background, involved in the same action research, thus having different theoretical perspectives on the study. The method of involving two researchers in the same study is not main stream in action research. The empirical data is analysed based on the two research perspectives and on paralle

Distribution and tissue expression of semenogelin I and II in man as demonstrated by in situ hybridization and immunocytochemistry

Semenogelin I and II (Sgl, Sgll) are two separate gene products of chromosome 20 with extensive (80%) identity in primary structure. They are mainly responsible for immediate gel formation of freshly ejaculated semen. Degradation of Sgl and Sgll is due to the proteolytic action of prostate-specific antigen (PSA); it results within 5-15 minutes in liquefaction of semen and release of progressively

Various outcomes of cholinesterase inhibitor treatment influence survival of patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

Objectives: Various outcomes of cholinesterase inhibitor (ChEI) therapy have been observed in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). It is not clear whether the duration of treatment, type of ChEI, or dose affect mortality. We aimed to investigate the association between ChEI therapy and patient survival. Methods: The Swedish Alzheimer Treatment Study (SATS) is a prospective, observational, multicentre study t

Theory of Inversion of Dispersive Bi-Isotropic Slab Parameters using TEM-Pulses

A new method of reconstructing the causal susceptibility kernels of a homogeneous, temporally dispersive, bi-isotropic medium from generic scattering data at normal incidence is presented. This inverse problem is shown to be well posed in the space of continuous functions furnished with the maximum norm, C[0, T]. A numerical example is given.
