Dock är ett vanligt problem attpersoner med långvarig smärta ofta blir misstrodda och personer med långvarig smärta blir oftare illa bemötta än de utan smärta. Av de med långvarig smärta var det omkring en tredjedel som uppgav att de blivit illa bemötta som sökt vård för sin smärta.
