Extensions to an Optimization-Based Multivariable Reduction Method

In this paper two extensions to an optimization based model reduction method are considered: frequency-weighted and parameter-dependent model reduction. The performed extensions are simple and natural, this fact illustrates the advantages of the method. Also, the methods may be applied using an exact model or frequency samples ofa model. We construct numerical examples to illustrate both extension

Motivational Triggers in Projects: A Comparative Study of the Construction and Consulting Industries

The existence or absence of motivation among project members can determine whether or not a project succeeds or fails. Establishing and maintaining motivation, however, are difficult tasks for project managers. Individuals have different triggers of motivation and it is a complex task to understand the underlying motivational drivers of every member of a project, especially because projects are ch

Increasing DG Capacity of Existing Networks through Reactive Power Control and Curtailment

Renewable energy sources (RES), especially wind turbines, have become more important during the last years. An increasing number of distributed generation (DG) units are connected to weak medium voltage distribution networks in rural areas where they have a large influence on the voltage and the line losses. Voltage rise is in this case often a limiting factor for the maximum amount of DG capacity

Characterization of MIMO antennas with multiplexing efficiency

A simple and intuitive metric of multiplexing efficiency is proposed for evaluating the performance of MIMO antennas in the spatial multiplexing mode of operation. The metric is particularly useful for antenna engineers whose goal is to achieve the optimum antenna system design. Experimental results involving prototype mobile terminals highlight the effectiveness of our proposal.

How Could the Nuclear Deal Change Iran?

Reduction of external threats to survival and mitigation of threat perceptions can persuade the state apparatus to gradually desecuritize the internal sphere and allow for a more inclusive and democratic politics to emerge, not least if such an opening promises to consolidate its interests in the long run. The logic applies to all rational actors in the international system that are driven by will

Den totala massan av kalciumkarbonat i infiltrationsområdet bestäIn a study of the neutralization capacity and limestone content the artificial recharge area of the Sydvatten waterworks Vombverket in Vomb, Skåne, five samples from different locations in the area was collected, sieved and acidified with hydrochloric acid. The neutralization capacity measured as calcium carbonate content was found to vary in the different sandy soil samples but was generally high
