Proton-Induced X-Ray Emission in the Trace Analysis of Human Tooth Enamel and Dentine
In this study the feasibility of applying proton-induced X-ray emission spectroscopy (PIXE) to the trace element analysis of human tooth enamel and dentine is investigated. Detection limits on the order of 1–10 ppm are obtained. Depth yields for different elements and proton energies are discussed. Enhancement calculations show that the effect for PIXE analysis is less important than for X-ray ind

Servicemötets praktik : på en tingsrätt, ett äldreboende och ett hotell
The practice of service encounters in a district court, a home for the elderly, and a hotel Service management research places the service encounter in a central position. It is highlighted as a key event that involves the simultaneous production, consumption, and marketing of the services produced by the operation. However, in this research there is a tendency to discuss the service encounter in
The influence of alcohol on bone metabolism and fracture healing
Popular Abstract in Swedish Har alkohol någon skadlig effekt på människoskelettet? Enligt nyligen publicerade data dricker män mest i åThe influence of alcohol on bone metabolism, fracture and fracture healing was evaluated in men and male rats by measurements of bone mineral density (BMD), biochemical markers and biomechanical testings. Retrospectively, 199 male patients hospitalized for tibia shaft fractures were studied. Forty-nine were judged as problem drinkers. Abusers were more prone to sustain oblique fractures. The heal

Chinese Investigative Journalists' Dreams: Autonomy, Agency, and Voice
This edited volume brings together scholars positioned in and outside of China, including former Chinese journalists, in a comprehensive and in-depth study of Chinese investigative journalists' dreams, work practices, and strategies. It is the first book that systematically addresses the roles and values of Chinese investigative journalists in different types of media, in the process addressing to
Transistor sizing for a 4-state current mode analog channel decoder in 65-nm CMOS
Analog decoders are constructed based on interconnecting CMOS Gilbert vector multipliers using transistors operating in the sub-VT region. They are seen as an interesting alternative to digital implementations with a low transistor count and a potential for a very low power consumption. Analog implementation makes the circuit sensitive to mismatch, requiring careful transistor sizing. A simulation
Evaluation of the Cover Effect in Mafraq Landfill –Jordan Using Hydrus-2d Simulation
In this study, a two-dimensional numerical model for water flow and solute transport, Hydrus-2D, was used to investigate the impact of landfill cover thickness and the antecedent water content (Ө) of the soil beneath the landfill on the chloride percolation below the landfill. Series of simulation scenarios were performed using season varying climatic data during a 30-year period including two var
On a Feedback Control-based Mechanism of Bidding for Cloud Spot Service
As a cost-effective option for Cloud consumers, spot service has been considered to be a significant supplement for building a full-fledged market economy for the Cloud ecosystem. However, unlike the static and straightforward way of trading on-demand and reserved Cloud services, the market-driven regulations of employing spot service could be too complicated for Cloud consumers to comprehensively
