Sociology of Law

Many of the original sociological premises, concepts and ideas regarding social action, legal change and social reform were initially formulated by studying conditions specific to Western industrial societies. The socio-cultural consequences of globalisation over the last three decades have, however, affected the relationship between state, law and society, blurred sharply drawn distinctions betwe

Multi-Switch for Antenna Selection in Massive MIMO

Massive MIMO has been shown to greatly improve spectral and transmit-energy efficiency. When implementing a massive MIMO system, one challenge is high hardware complexity. A solution is to reduce the number of radio frequency (RF) transceiver chains by performing antenna selection. However, a full RF switch that connects the antennas and RF chains can be highly complex and incurs significant loss

Characterization of C-14 in Swedish light-water reactors

This paper presents the results of a 4-y investigation of C-14 in different waste streams of both boiling water reactors (BWRs) and pressurized water reactors (PWRs). Due to the potential impact of C-14 on human health, minimizing waste and releases from the nuclear power industry is of considerable interest. The experimental data and conclusions may be implemented to select appropriate waste mana

Statistics of temperature and potential fluctuations induced by coherent single particle sources

The prospect of time controlled information processing with individual electrons in nanoscale systems provides strong motivation for investigations of coupled charge and energy transport properties of single electron sources. Building on our recent work [F. Battista et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 110, 126602 (2013)] we investigate theoretically the statistical properties of temperature and potential flu

Projectile fragmentation of Sn-112 at Elab = 1 A GeV

We have measured production cross sections of projectilelike fragments in the reaction of neutron-deficient 112Sn with a 9Be target at an energy of Elab=1A GeV. Results have been obtained for neutron-deficient products along the N=Z line down to the subnanobarn range. We find very good agreement with the recently revised empirical parametrization EPAX. In addition, a few one- and two-proton pickup

Instrumentation, Control and Automation in Wastewater Systems

nstrumentation, control and automation (ICA) in wastewater treatment systems is now an established and recognised area of technology in the profession. There are obvious incentives for ICA, not the least from an economic point of view. Plants are also becoming increasingly complex which necessitates automation and control. Instrumentation, Control and Automation in Wastewater Systems summarizes t
