Digital health interventions to reduce stress in adolescents - Development of an accessible, digital preventive health tool to promote stress recovery

Mental illness among Swedish adolescents is increasing, which partly might be a result of an observed increase in stress. Consequently, the number of adolescents seeking and receiving psychiatric care from pediatric psychiatry is higher than ever, and has resulted in a worsened accessibility with longer waiting times for appointments and treatment. As such, preventive care and health promotion int

Experimentet aThe aim of this experimental study was to put a psychological focus on nudging as a method of influence by exploring its conditions, limitations and underlying mechanisms. The study examined effectiveness in relation to different types of nudging based on the dual process theory and different levels of transparency as well as how transparent nudging affects the experience of freedom of choice. The

The Function of Arbitral Tribunals in the Development of Human Rights Obligations of the Investors

What is often more important in the international investment agreements between a private investor and the host country is to ensure the investors' economic security in the host country. However, recently, one of the concerns in most of these agreements is human rights. Then one of the host country's obligations is the observance of human rights obligations. The problem is that investors a

Svenska regionmuseers användning av sociala medier

This thesis examines how and for what purposes Swedish regional museums are using social media, how they are representing themselves and how they are adapting to the norms and informal standards on social media platforms. The study also examines how the materiality and authenticity of museum collections are portrayed by the museums through social media. By using thematic analysis to examine the s

“Man vill kunna vara nära, visa att man är där, att man förstår” - En kvalitativ studie i sjukhuskuratorers upplevelse av förändringar i psykosociala samtal under coronapandemin.

The aim of this study was to examine the experiences of change in hospital social counselors counseling with patients during the Covid-19 pandemic, based on the topics “use of digital tools” and “the use of infection control equipment and infection control in general”. Furthermore, the study seeks to understand how the change in work methods caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the perceiv

Implementation, review and development of methodology for single case comparisons to small samples in the R package singcar

Statistical comparison of single cases to small samples is a methodology that has been extensively used in, for example, cognitive and clinical neuropsychology. This is most often done to determine changes in cognitive processing after an individual has incurred some type of brain damage. In a clinical setting one often wish to infer whether a patient exhibit abnormally low performance on some cog

Secondary Transfer Pricing Adjustments: Interpretation Challenges within the EU and International Perspectives

This master thesis elaborates on the issues of the secondary transfer pricing adjustments that are common yet not regulated in an efficient manner by the states. The core problem of the double taxation issues to follow is the unwillingness of the states to accept the administrative tax decisions of each other in such sensitive fields as transfer pricing. Even though the primary and correlative tra

By Vice or Virtue: Does it Pay Off to Sin During Market Downturns?

This paper investigates sin stock characteristics through relative return performance compared to the global market index MSCI World, defining stock defensiveness towards market movements (i.e. recession resistance) and abnormal amounts of excess returns. This was achieved by constructing a sin stock portfolio; SINDEX, containing stocks from the alcohol, tobacco, gambling, weapons and defence, fos

Labour market mechanisms - An empirical study of policies and institutions on the general labour market and the short term effects on the Swedish labour market during the Covid-19 crisis

This thesis looks at labour market mechanisms for 13 advanced countries and narrows down the focus to the Swedish labour market during the Covid-19 crisis. We concluded that short term unemployment benefits are correlated with a decrease in the unemployment rate while trade union density and public unemployment spending for a longer period is correlated with an increased unemployment rate. The the

Can you resist being cynical? A case study of cynicism and resistance towards employee development

This paper examines the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of cynical perceptions towards employee development through qualitative research. Based on a case study, data were gathered through 25 semi-structured interviews with both managers and subordinates at a company within the telecommunication industry. The empirical findings have been studied using the literature topics of strategic human resource management, n

In the cold and dark countries of Scandinavia, light is a precious thing. Furthermore in recent years cycling has become an increasingly popular means of transportation in Scandinavia. The common use of bikes in these dark landscapes results in a high demand on bike lights. An issue is that people have their bike lights stolen. Therefore “be seen” bike lights, that are meant to be attached

The anti-amyloidogenic activity in the chaperone DNAJB6 and mimic constructs with only the most conserved serine and threonine rich beta-hairpin

I fThe chaperone DNAJB6 can suppress fibril formation of amyloid-β. This is dependent on functionally important conserved serine (S) and threonine (T) residues located in a C-terminal domain which is dominated by β-strands. Substitution of the conserved ST-residues with alanine residues results in loss of this function. In this thesis two DNAJB6 mimic constructs are examined to see whether or not the

Mental health during the covid19 pandemic in Sweden, as an interaction between personality and contextual factors

Tidigare studier har bidragit till förklaringar av covid19’s effekter på psykisk hälsa genom att fokusera på antingen personlighetsbaserade eller kontextuella faktoThe covid19 pandemic has presented great challenges to mental health globally, in part due to restrictions implemented in the wake of the pandemic; such as social distancing, but also due to the fear and psychological distress associated with living during times of crisis. Prior studies have contributed to explaining covid19’s effects on mental health by addressing either personality-based or cont

The Self and the Group - Identity-making among political activists in northeast Italy

This thesis focuses on representation modes among Italian political activists, engaged in multiple fights against globalization and neo-capitalism, by illustrating how participants in the Italian no-global movement build their identity. Through a number of interviews and participant observation, which build the empirical ground of this study, the activist and the group are juxtaposed, their role i

The anti-amyloidogenic activity of the chaperone DNAJB6 and mimic constructs with only its serine and threonine-rich β-sheet region

PThe molecular chaperone DNAJB6 has conserved serine (S) and threonine (T) residues, which are crucial for its ability to efficiently suppress amyloid formation of aggregation-prone amyloidogenic peptides. Substitution of the conserved ST-residues with alanine residues results in loss of this function. These functionally important conserved ST-residues are located in a C-terminal domain, which is c
