Decreased Gene Expression of Fibrillin-1 in Stress Urinary Incontinence
Aims: Studies to show impairments in the pelvic floor extracellular matrix (ECM) associated with stress urinary incontinence (SUI) has earlier been performed, but the results are contradictory. Collagen I and III, the elastin associated proteins fibrillin-1 and fibulin-5 and the small leucine-rich repeat proteoglycans (SLRPs) decorin, lumican and fibromodulin are involved in giving the tissue its
Uncertainty, Judgment, and the Theory of the Firm
The effects of a truly uncertain future are more far-reaching than what has traditionally been assumed in transaction cost economics. Uncertain governance choices require that agents exercise judgment in the absence of other means of estimating the payoffs associated with complex combinations of transaction attributes, contractual contingencies, and governance structures. Judgments are made on an
Socioeconomic status and the risk for being diagnosed with spondyloarthritis and chronic pain: a nested case-control study.
Socioeconomic status could potentially impact on which type of rheumatic diagnosis a patient receives. We determined whether different socioeconomic status is a risk factor for being diagnosed with spondyloarthritis (SpA) or chronic pain. In a nested case-control study, we identified two sets of adult cases diagnosed with (i) SpA (n = 1,194) and (ii) chronic pain (n = 3,730) during 2010-2012 in Sk

Climate Rights : Feasible or Not?
Scholars have argued that we have compelling reasons to combat climate change because it threatens human rights, referred to here as ‘climate rights’. The prospects of climate rights are analysed assuming two basic desiderata: its accuracy in capturing the normative dimension of climate change (reasons to prevent/mitigate/adapt to climate change); and its ability to generate political measures. In
Imaging of non-osteochondral tissues in osteoarthritis.
The aim of this review is to describe imaging techniques for evaluation of non-osteochondral structures such as the synovium, menisci in the knee, labrum in the hip, ligaments and muscles and to review the literature from recent clinical and epidemiological studies of OA.
Measurement noise filtering for PID controllers
Measurement noise can generate undesired control activity resulting in wear of actuators and reduced performance. The effects of measurement noise can be alleviated by filtering the measurement signal. The design of the filter is then a trade-off; heavy filtering reduces the undesired control activity but performance is degraded. In this paper we discuss the trade-offs for PID control. Based on the
Excitations of surface plasmon polaritons in double layer metal grating structures
We study the light scattering properties of double layer gratings (DLGs) made from Au on SiO2 substrates. It is found that surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) can be excited in the DLGs for a separation of up to 150 nm between the two Au grating layers and the collective reflectance spectra exhibit a strong resonant peak and a closely lying dip as a result of the surface plasmon polariton excitation
Social determinants of health - A question of social or economic capital? Interaction effects of socioeconomic factors on health outcomes
Social structures and socioeconomic patterns are the major determinants of population health. However, very few previous studies have simultaneously analysed the "social" and the "economic" indicators when addressing social determinants of health. We focus on the relevance of economic and social capital as health determinants by analysing various indicators. The aim of this paper was to analyse in
The group rehabilitation helped me adjust to a new life: Experiences shared by persons with an acquired brain injury.
Primary objective: The aim of this study was to describe how persons with acquired brain injury experience an out-patient group rehabilitation programme and how the programme had contributed to their everyday lives. Design and method: Qualitative interviews with 11 men and women with an acquired brain injury who had participated in an out-patient group rehabilitation programme were performed. Data
In Defense of 3D-Label Stereo
It is commonly believed that higher order smoothness should be modeled using higher order interactions. For example, 2nd order derivatives for deformable (active) contours are represented by triple cliques. Similarly, the 2nd order regularization methods in stereo predominantly use MRF models with scalar (1D) disparity labels and triple clique interactions. In this paper we advocate a largely over

Higher Harmonic Anisotropic Flow Measurements of Charged Particles in Pb-Pb Collisions at root s(NN)=2.76 TeV
We report on the first measurement of the triangular nu(3), quadrangular nu(4), and pentagonal nu(5) charged particle flow in Pb-Pb collisions at root s(NN) = 2.76 TeV measured with the ALICE detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. We show that the triangular flow can be described in terms of the initial spatial anisotropy and its fluctuations, which provides strong constraints on its origin.

Expression of apolipoprotein M in human hepatocellular carcinoma tissues
The present study examined mRNA levels and protein mass of apolipoprotein M (apoM) in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues and in the adjacent tissues. Plasma apoM levels in these HCC patients were also determined and compared to the normal subjects. The mean level of plasma apoM in the HCC patients was 0.61 +/- 0.30 OD mm(-2), which was significantly higher than that in the normal subject
Comparison of use of vaginal HPV self-sampling and offering flexible appointments as strategies to reach long-term non-attending women in organized cervical screening.
Many cervical cancers occur among women who have not attended cervical screening. Strategies to reach non-attending women may improve the effectiveness of cervical screening programmes.
Impact of fasting glucose on electrocardiographic left ventricular hypertrophy in an elderly general population
Objective. To evaluate relationships between fasting plasma glucose (FPG), other cardiovascular risk markers and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) as detected by electrocardiography. Methods. Subjects were selected randomly from groups defi ned by FPG. Traditional risk markers were assessed. LVH was defi ned by either Cornell voltage -duration product (CP) or Sokolow -Lyon voltage combination (SL
Non-Markovian effects in the first-passage dynamics of obstructed tracer particle diffusion in one-dimensional systems.
The standard setup for single-file diffusion is diffusing particles in one dimension which cannot overtake each other, where the dynamics of a tracer (tagged) particle is of main interest. In this article, we generalize this system and investigate first-passage properties of a tracer particle when flanked by identical crowder particles which may, besides diffuse, unbind (rebind) from (to) the one-
