Common Pitfalls of Head and Neck Research Using Cancer Registries

Published 10 October 2019 Pitfalls were identified in 2 major areas—design and data analysis. Design pitfalls included unbalanced cohorts, uncontrolled covariates, and flawed oncologic variables. Analytical pitfalls included incorrect application of univariate analyses, inclusion of inaccurate data, and inclusion of stage IVc disease in curative survival analysis. Additional limitations of databas

Joint comorbidities among Swedish carriers of haemophilia: A register‐based cohort study over 22 years

Published 11 October 2019 Carriers of haemophilia suffer a significant risk for joint comorbidities. This risk seems to correlate to the factor activity. Our findings underline the impor‐tance of regular clinical follow‐up of carriers at HTCs. New publication in Wiley.Read more here.

Cross comparison and prognostic assessment of breast cancer multigene signatures in a large population-based contemporary clinical series

Published 25 October 2019 The current study supports the usage of gene expression signatures in specific clinical treatment groups within population-based breast cancer. It also stresses the need of further development to reach higher consensus in individual patient classifications, especially for intermediate-risk patients, and the targeting of patients where current gene signatures and prognosti
