Saving energy and warning of energy deficit

The Swedish energy agency has warned of an energy deficit and the posibility of rolling blackouts that might follow if we don't flatten the curve of energy consumption. The main reason for the shortage is due to repairs on some of our nuclear power facilites. The Swedish government and Lund University asks us to help save energy in these times, to prevent rolling blackouts. Electricity shortage Th

Rental Increase

Significant inflation in Sweden means a raised Customer Price Index. This in turn raises our rents to the different property owners of our housing areas. This means that in most of our student housing areas, we will have to raise the rent. Not all areas are affected, however. Due to significant inflation in Sweden, we will have to increase the rent at most of our student housing areas by 8%.  As y

New regulations regarding the possibility for universities to supply housing

A new regulation from the government that takes effect on 1 January 2023 decides how universities are allowed to supply housing to its students. This means some groups we have previously housed, are no longer eligible to get housing with us in the new year. Note however that current contracts and contracts already offered before 1 January 2023 are still valid and go by the higher precedent of "pos

Wavefunction methods for solid state matter (WFS-2025) – 25/03- 28/03 2025 – Hotel Arkon Park, Gdańsk, Poland

What is the workshop about?Wavefunction methods, including multiconfigurational theory, are well-established techniques for electronic structure calculations of both ground and excited states in chemistry and molecular spectroscopy. However, these methods have been seldom applied in the context of solid-state systems due to their computationally intensive nature and the requirement for additional
