Neurophysiological evidence of rapid holistic tone-based lexical access

Word accents are restricted by a word’s morphological structure but also distinguish lexical meanings in minimal pairs. We investigated how early tonal information carried by morphophonemic word accents influences rapid lexical access in native speakers. We also asked whether tone-bearing words are decomposed into morphemes and word accents, or retrieved holistically via full-form neural represent

A high-voltage symmetric sodium ion battery using sodium vanadium pyrophosphate with superior power density and long lifespan

Sodium ion batteries have been considered as promising alternatives to lithium ion batteries for large-scale renewable energy and smart grids applications due to their low cost and rich resources. However, critical drawbacks such as low energy density and poor stability are hindering their development and application. In this work, a stable symmetric sodium ion cell using sodium vanadium pyrophosp

Investigation of Polymer/Ceramic Composite Solid Electrolyte System : The Case of PEO/LGPS Composite Electrolytes

The incorporation of inorganic lithium superionic conductors in polymer/ceramic composite electrolytes has been frequently proposed since this approach is expected to take advantage of the high ionic conductivities of the lithium superionic conductors and the elasticity of the polymer constituents of the composites. Nevertheless, the properties and mechanisms of polymer/ceramic composite electroly

TiO2@LiTi2(PO4)3 enabling fast and stable lithium storage for high voltage aqueous lithium-ion batteries

Anatase TiO2 is recognized as a promising negative electrode material when employing “water-in-salt” electrolytes in high voltage aqueous lithium-ion batteries. However, the catalytic property of water splitting aggravates the hydrogen evolution reaction, which hinders the formation of a stable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on the electrode surface and therefore results in poor cycling perfor

Tailoring of Gradient Particles of Li-Rich Layered Cathodes with Mitigated Voltage Decay for Lithium-Ion Batteries

Voltage decay during cycling is still a major issue for Li-rich cathodes in lithium ion batteries. Recently, the increase of Ni content has been recognized as an effective way to mitigate this problem, although it leads to lower-capacity materials. To find a balance between voltage decay and high capacity, particles of Li-rich materials with concentration gradients of transition metals have been p

Catching common vulnerabilities with code language models

Code Language Model (code-LM)-based vulnerability detection for C/C++ faces a substantial challenge. Previous research has shown that even though it is better than any prior machine learning approach, it still struggles to generalize well, as shown by the low F1 score. Prior works treated the problem as a binary classification: either vulnerable or non-vulnerable. Looking deeper at the various vul

The tidal deformation and atmosphere of WASP-12 b from its phase curve

Context. Ultra-hot Jupiters present a unique opportunity to understand the physics and chemistry of planets, their atmospheres, and interiors at extreme conditions. WASP-12 b stands out as an archetype of this class of exoplanets, with a close-in orbit around its star that results in intense stellar irradiation and tidal effects. Aims. The goals are to measure the planet's tidal deformation, atmos

Central Zika virus infection causes hypothalamic inflammation and persistent insulin resistance in adult mice

Zika virus (ZIKV) is a neurotropic flavivirus capable of infecting the adult brain, however its impact on hypothalamic function and metabolic regulation remains unclear. Here, we show that ZIKV invades the hypothalamus of immunocompetent adult mice, where it replicates and persists, leading to sustained insulin resistance. Following infection, ZIKV RNA and negative strand were detected in the hypo

Discovery of two warm mini-Neptunes with contrasting densities orbiting the young K3V star TOI-815

We present the discovery and characterization of two warm mini-Neptunes transiting the K3V star TOI-815 in a K–M binary system. Analysis of its spectra and rotation period reveal the star to be young, with an age of 200+−400200 Myr. TOI-815b has a 11.2-day period and a radius of 2.94 ± 0.05 R+ with transits observed by TESS, CHEOPS, ASTEP, and LCOGT. The outer planet, TOI-815c, has a radius of 2.6

This value is based on information obtained by the property owner during the property tax assessment and on the National Tax Board's developed guideline values. It is the value factors area, condition and drainage that affect the value. This thesis examines how the area data for agricultural land in different

Cospectral Trees Indistinguishable by Scattering

Let v1 and v2 be two distinct vertices of an equilateral tree T0. Let ϕN(i) (i=1,2) be the characteristic functions of the Sturm-Liouville problem on T0 rooted at vi with Neumann conditions at the root and let ϕD(i) (i=1,2) be the characteristic functions of the Sturm-Liouville problem on T0 with Dirichlet conditions at the root. We prove that if attaching any tree to T0 at the vertices v1 and v2
