Impact of roof shape on air pressure, wind flow and indoor temperature of residential buildings
The aim of this study is to investigate different roof shapes with respect to air flow and indoor temperature in order to find efficient roof shapes for residential buildings in Tehran, Iran. First, an analytical model is defined and then various roof types are modelled. Theoretical modelling is presented to assess the accuracy of the measurement procedures and the uncertainty of experimental mode
Natural ventilation performance of ancient wind catchers, an experimental and analytical study - case studies: one-sided, two-sided and four-sided wind catchers
An experimental and analytical method has been applied to evaluate air flow pattern in three main kinds of Iranian traditional wind catchers. Results indicate that ARDAKANI wind catcher with one opening is not an efficient device, and airflow average rate in its shaft is negative. It means that one-side wind catcher has a high rate air extract specially in summer and spring which air supply is dem
Trade and the Euro: Effects on Bystanders
This article investigates trade effects of the euro focusing on the impact on bystanders. We use data for Swedish firms and examine the impact on exporting firms’ intensive and extensive margins of trade. Our result shows an overall increase in Swedish firms’ exports to the euro area after the introduction of the single currency, indicating that the euro has decreased trade costs also for outsider
Surface roughness and sub-surface deformation measurements in machining of niobium
Single-phase niobium is used in superconducting accelerator components in particle accelerating facilities. Functionality of such accelerator components is placing high demands on the surface quality. Single-phase niobium, as opposed to niobium alloys, is a highly ductile metal, which in a cutting process normally leads to such surface defects as adhesion, built-up edges, side flow, and burr forma
