Hygrothermal conditions in exterior walls for passive houses in cold climate considering future climate scenario

Reduction of energy use constitutes as an important measure for climate change mitigation. Buildings today account for 40% of the world’s primary energy use and 24% of the greenhouse gas emissions [International Energy Agency (IEA) 2011]0. The concept of passive houses is one of many necessary measures for climate change mitigation. To reach the passive house ambition in cold climates, increased t

Agency autonomy - not that stable?

Building on the idea of path-dependency, studies on agency autonomy typically assume that de facto autonomy is relatively stable over time within national politico-administrative contexts. This assumption is challenged in this paper, which maintains that de facto autonomy may just as well be understood as a state in constant flux. The paper highlights the limitations of historical institutionalism

Valid inequalities for a shortest-path routing optimization problem

In autonomous systems of the Internet packets are routed on shortest paths to their destinations, for example according to the ECMP principle. The problem of finding a feasible traffic routing configuration realized on paths which can be generated by a system of weights assigned to IP links is NP-hard. This problem can be formulated as a mixed-integer program and attempted with a branch-and-cut al

Hypereosinophilic syndrome in a child mosaic for a congenital triplication of the short arm of chromosome 8

An 11-year-old boy with mental retardation, malformations, and the mosaic karyotype 47,XY,+i(8p)/46,XY presented with fever, headache and petechiae. Peripheral blood WBC was 190 x 10(9)/l; and contained > 90% mature eosinophils. Cytogenetic analysis of the eosinophils revealed no aberrations except the constitutional karyotype. The patient was diagnosed as having a hypereosinophilic syndrome. Shor
