A PLL based 12GHz LO generator with digital phase control in 90nm CMOS

A 12 GHz PLL with digital output phase control has been implemented in a 90 nm CMOS process. It is intended for LO signal generation in integrated phased array transceivers. Locally placed PLLs eliminate the need of long high frequency LO routing to each transceiver in a phased array circuit. Routing losses are thereby reduced and design of integrated phased array transceivers become more modular.

Who Gets What in Coalition Governments? Predictors of Portfolio Allocation in Parliamentary Democracies

Ministerial portfolios are the most obvious payoffs for parties entering a governing coalition in parliamentary democracies. This renders the bargaining over portfolios an important phase of the government formation process. The question of ‘who gets what, and why?’ in terms of ministerial remits has not yet received much attention by coalition or party scholars. This article focuses on this quali

Emotions towards wildlife: Implications for policy and management. Symposium introduction

Human appreciation of nature and natural elements is ubiquitous. The role of emotions in human relationships with nature has received increasing attention within environmental psychology, for example by employing constructs such as affinity with nature. Also, researchers are recognizing the importance of studying emotions for understanding human-wildlife interactions (Jacobs, 2009; Johansson &

On the Meaning of the ’Object and Purpose’ Criterion, in the Context of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties, Article 19

According to the provisions laid down in Article 19 of the 1969 Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties a state that consents to be bound by a treaty may not formulate such reservations to the agreement, which are incompatible with its object and purpose. This socalled 'object and purpose criterion' has long been puzzling actors of public international law. What does it mean for a reservation to
