The Life of Saint Germer and the Life of Saint Josse are two poems consisting of 874 and 820 octosyllabic verses respectively. They were written in the beginning of the 13th century by Pierre de Beauvais. The two poems are preserved in one manuscript only, the Grand recueil la Clayette, Paris, Bibl. nat. Nouv. acq. fr. 13521, written in the latter half of the 13th century by a scribe who was from
Målgruppen och budskapet : En modell för målgruppsanpassning av trafiksäkerhetsbudskap till unga manliga trafikanter
The empirical work rests on two separate theoretical foundations: theories that form the basis for analyzing the different target groups and theories dealing with persuasion. Theories of the first sort concern life-style, individual values, perceived risk, individual characteristics and self-image. Earlier research on young car drivers is also relevant in this context. Theories on attitudes and at

Catrines intressanta blekhet
The main theme of this dissertation is the question of how young women in the early middle class handled the new demands for marriage based on love instead of on judgements of moral, economy and status. Another theme is the education of these middle class girls around 1800 and the question how this new education interacted with the new demands for love marriage. The German social historian Ulrike
Market Integration – An Exploratory Analysis of Price Patterns and Transport Costs
This dissertation provides an alternative perspective on the process of market integration by focusing on market integration within a nation's borders. The dissertation intends to go beyond traditional integration theory and examine various alternative approaches to market integration by using Lao PDR as an empirical example for assessing these alternative approaches empirically. The main objectiv
Physical Modeling of Protein Folding
Sequence-based models for protein folding are developed and tested on peptides with both alpha- and beta-structure, and on small three-helix-bundle proteins. The interaction potentials of the models are minimalistic and based mainly on hydrogen bonding and effective hydrophobicity forces. By contrast, the geometric representation of the protein chain is detailed. We explore the thermodynamic behav

Isospin Breaking in Kaon Decays to Pions
The five different K -> 3 Pi and the three K -> 2 Pi decays are calculated in Chiral Perturbation Theory. The calculation is done using different approximations, to study whether this changes the result significantly. First the isospin approximation is used. Discrepancies are then found between theory and experiment. Further calculations without the isospin approximation are then done to see if th

Contesting the Status Quo- A comparative study of democratic electoral outcomes in electoral authoritarian regimes
There has recently been an increased interest among academic scholars on the importance of elections per se as promoters for democratic change in semi-democratic contexts. This study positions itself somewhat on the side of this debate asking; when do elections in electoral authoritarian regimes result in democratic consequences? Recognising that elections can be as well a tool for democratic empo

Network Modelling for Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Cellulose Fibre Fluff
A network mechanics model for cellulose fibre fluff is proposed. 2D and 3D versions of the model have been implemented and the influence of various micro-level parameters on the global mechanical performance has been determined by means of computer simulations. Model networks composed of bonded fibres of arbitrary distribution in length, curvature, cross-section, stiffness and strength were inves
The Captivating Chill : Why Readers Desire Nordic Noir
Cinq de ces facThis article outlines some of the common denominators of Nordic crime fiction: characteristics beyond the geographical setting, which are shared by a majority of the fiction included in concepts like Nordic Noir or Scandicrime, and which seem to make this fiction especially attractive to international readers. Five such factors are found to be of particular importance: 1) The Stieg Larsson effect,
Social Integration: Are Voluntary Sector Organisation Public Partnerships (VSOPP) influencing municipalities’ labour market administrations’ views on integration?
While public sector commonly works with system and civic integration, non-profit sector works with social integration. By doing a case study on Stockholm’s and Malmö’s municipalities, this thesis investigates how Voluntary Sector Organisation Public Partnerships (VSOPP) have influenced their labour market administrations’ views on integration. VSOPPs are partnerships between public and non-profit
