Against the background of a totalitarian epoch and its falsified history writing, the notions of memory, history and truth have received quite specific meanings. This book sheds light on several totalitarian and post-totalitarian reg

This book explores how the European tourist industry transcended the ideological fault lines and the communist states attracted an ever-increasing number of Western tourists. Based on extensive original research, it examines the ramifications of to

This study analyzes Vladimir Putin’s use of history in narratives about Ukraine in outward rhetoric, and how it has changed over time since 2013. This is done through qualitative text-analysis of speeches and other texts published on the Kremlin’s website. The goal is to gain a deeper understanding of one aspect behind the build-up to the current Russo-Ukrainian war, and how historical narratives
