Solidarity and Knowldege

This paper discusses the term solidarity in relation to knowledge, and the existing tension between a vital women’s movement on the one hand, and a feminist academic theory on the other. The raise of a highly capitalist and neoliberal notion of feminism, a sort of “free market feminism” is restricting and limiting the space for solidarity in feminist politics and theory. Jodi Dean’s term reflexive

Scheduling and Power Control for Energy-Optimality of Low Duty Cycled Sensor Networks

The main limitation of operating sensor networks autonomously is the finite battery capacity of sensor nodes. Sensors are usually operated at low duty cycle; that is, they remain in active mode for short duration of time, in order to prolong the network lifetime. However, operating at low duty cycle may result in significant performance degradation in system operation. Hence, in this work, we quan

Few-body precursor of the higgs mode in a fermi gas

We demonstrate that an undamped few-body precursor of the Higgs mode can be investigated in a harmonically trapped Fermi gas. Using exact diagonalization, the lowest monopole mode frequency is shown to depend nonmonotonically on the interaction strength, having a minimum in a crossover region. The minimum deepens with increasing particle number, reflecting that the mode is the few-body analogue of

Experimental Investigations of Combustion Chamber Heat Transfer in a Light-Duty Diesel Engine

This work concerned experimental studies of heat transfer in a light-duty diesel engine. Combustion is affected by several parameters, such as pressure, engine speed, mass of injected fuel and in-cylinder gas flow. These parameters are in turn affected by the combustion chamber geometry and fuel spray characteristics. At high load the exhaust heat was increased more than at high engine speed. Swir
