Effects of compression bandaging with or without manual lymph drainage treatment in patients with postoperative arm lymphedema
We examined the effects of low stretch compression bandaging (CB) alone or in combination with manual lymph drainage (MLD) in 38 female patients with arm lymphedema after treatment for breast cancer. After CB therapy for 2 weeks (Part I), the patients were allocated to either CB or CB + MLD for 1 week (Part II). Arm volume and subjective assessments of pain, heaviness and tension were measured. Th

The Theories and Politics of Entrepreneurial Cities - A Theoretical Summing Up and the Next Step Forward
How can theories about the entrepreneurial city contribute to our understanding of local politics? The theoretical framework of urban entrepreneurialism, as well as empirical studies thereof, occupy a rather marginal position within Swedish political science. Entrepreneurialism includes an emphasis on both the content and the organisation of local politics, highlighting how public officials adopt
Phase transformation and stability studies of the Zr-H system
Popular Abstract in English Zirconium alloys are widely used in nuclear power reactors as cladding material for their fuels due to the high strength, good corrosion resistance and low neutron absorption cross-section, even in extreme environment, that is characteristic for zirconium. The element, however, also has strong affinity for hydrogen, and when both are present they readily react and form Zirconium alloys are widely used in the nuclear industry because of their high strength, good corrosion resistance and low neutron absorption cross-section. Zirconium has a strong affinity for hydrogen, however, and if hydrogen concentration builds up, the material will gradually degrade. In one class of such hydrogen caused degradation, called hydride induced embrittlement, hydrogen chemically re

Greening the welfare state: Confronting the ecological state with the realities of welfare state transformations
In this paper we explore the potential of cross-fertilization between research on welfare state reforms and on efforts to green the state in response to ecological challenges. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the conditions for an ecological state to emerge we relate welfare state studies to green political theory, that provide different conceptions of the ecological state and ways to gr

Using Local Differential Operators to Model Dispersion in Dielectric Media
Dispersion of electromagnetic waves is usually described in terms of an integro-differential equation. In this paper we show that whenever a differential operator can be found that annihilates the susceptibility kernel of the medium, then dispersion can be modeled by a partial differential equation without nonlocal operators.

Modernity and periphery: The sexual modernisation of Greenland
The paper will argue that the centre-periphery dynamics of the modernisation of sexuality is more complex and difficult to grasp than is usually shown in queer studies and gay history. Existing historiography on the emerging of a modern gay and lesbian identity has failed to study the links between different sites for the emergence of a gay and lesbian subculture. The contacts between Greenland

A Norm Perspective on Sustainable Development
This working paper will discuss how societal systems (technological, political, economic etc.) constitute boundaries and limitations for implementation- and legislation processes. Thus, the paper highlights the importance of understanding how political, economical, technological and systems affect and influence actions and strategies underlying an implementation- and regulation process (i.e. law/r
HEP Applications Evaluation of the EDG Testbed and Middleware
Workpackage 8 of the European Datagrid project was formed in January 2001 with representatives from the four LHC experiments, and with experiment independent people from five of the six main EDG partners. In September 2002 WP8 was strengthened by the addition of effort from BaBar and D0. The original mandate of WP8 was, following the definition of short- and long-term requirements, to port experim
