Supply Chain Management in the Construction Industry

In this licentiate thesis the implications of a deliberate use of logistics knowledge have been investigated by describing and analyzing the use of a supply chain management approach in the construction industry. A five-step approach is used in the thesis. First, theoretical models are developed from the supply chain management literature. Two models are elaborated; One model identifying supply

Coherent effects in single scattering and random errors in antenna technology

Lack of knowledge prevents us from exactly calculating the behavior of electromagnetic fields. We study two extremes in this respect: scattering against randomly distributed particles (no idea of the position or orientation of the scatterers), and random errors in antenna technology (small deviations from what we think are the proper parameters). Random variables are used to model our lack of knowl

Measurement Considerations for a Phased Array Beamforming Transmitter

Measurement aspects on a digital beamforming transmitter are addressed. A calibration and steering procedure for the beamforming transmitter is implemented in LabView. After calibration any beam direction can be achieved within a few clock cycles by switching in a digital control word. A reference horn antenna is built to characterize the transmitter and achieves an S11 less than -8 dB in the freq

Transnational Imaginaries and Actions in the Global Justice Movement

Drawing on results from a survey made at three local social forums held in Sweden, and interviews with activists taking part in the “co-ordination group” of one of these local forums (and to some extent interviews with Swedish local forum activists that visited the World Social Forum 2007 in Nairobi, Kenya), this paper focus on the transnational and the global dimension of activism within the glob

Polisen i förändring: Intervjuer med de anställda och analys of deras arbetsmiljö

This report is based on 75 in length interviews with employees, both police and civilians, concerning their health, their work environment, leadership and organization. A scale was derived from the interviews and when used together with statistics on turn-over rates and sick leave absences formed a useful tool for police leadership to identify troublesome or potentially troublesome work environmen

Important factors affecting the risk of mold growth in well-insulated wood frame walls in Northern European climates

Due to increased awareness of climate change and energy costs, well-insulated buildings have become more common. Furthermore, greater interest has been shown in using wood in building to produce more carbon dioxide-efficient houses. However, thicker thermal insulation in walls increases the risk of high relative humidity levels and the risk of mold-related damage in wood frame houses. This paper
