Managing end-users and their requirements in the construction process

The effective management of end-users and their requirements in construction projects can bring a number of benefits, for example more satisfied and less critical end-users in terms of both the product and project. Building occupants are however continually changing and with that their needs. It is thereby a challenge to understand what brings value for both known and unknown end-users. More over

Feedforward Control in the Paper Machine Drying Section

A new disturbance signal was introduced for the paper machine drying section and its feedforward control was evaluated. Control of the moisture content is conventionally accomplished by adjusting the steam pressure in the cylinders. By adding feedforward to a previously presented mid-ranging control system, the moisture disturbances rejection could be significantly improved.

Circuit analogs for stratified structures

We present an overview of how circuit models can be used for wave propaga- tion in stratified structures. Homogeneous slabs are modeled as transmission lines, and thin sheets between the slabs are modeled as lumped elements. It is seen that electric material properties contribute as shunt elements, and mag- netic material properties contribute as series elements. When the sheets have periodic patt

Heat Release in the End-Gas Prior to Knock in Lean, Rich and Stoichiometric Mixtures With and Without Egr

SI Engine knock is caused by autoignition in the unburnt part of the mixture (end-gas) ahead of the propagating flame. Autoignition of the end-gas occurs when the temperature and pressure exceeds a critical limit when comparatively slow reactions - releasing moderate amounts of heat - transform into ignition and rapid heat release. In this paper the difference in the heat released in the end-gas
