"Psykisk hälsa och platsens betydelse - ett sociologs beträktelse"

Abstract in Undetermined Sociologiska teorier om beteende har lagt mycket tid på att utforska platsens och i förlängningen omgivningens påverkan av individen. I artikeln presenteras en kort historisk genomgång om utvecklingen av mentalvården i Sverige, som belyser har platsen för vård speglat ett samspel mellan vetenskap och politik för att till sist blandas sammans i begreppet, den terapeutiska s

Electrical Characterization of Integrated InAs Nano-Structures

This thesis analyzes the electrical properties of InAs nano-structures, that are integrated into different materials and geometries. The thesis describes integration related issues of InAs, the epitaxial synthesis of the InAs nano-structures and summarizes experimental techniques for analysis of electrical properties of the integrated structures. InAs thin films, nanowires and membranes are invest

Better bicycle helmets for commuters – evaluation of ventilation

As a continuation of the work on the development of setting the requirements for ventilation of a bicycle helmet for commuters, 15 full scale helmet mock-ups were created by the students of the Estonian Academy of Arts. In order to encourage creativity for ventilation solutions the students were not restricted to consider the other properties except it was pointed out that the meaning of helmets u

”Provocation and the Mitigation of Responsibility”

In this article I discuss the relationship between the victim’s and the perpetrator’s guilt in a rape situation. Does recognition of the victim’s guilt automatically remove (any) responsibility from the perpetrator? One way of arguing that is does is to lean on an expanded version of the principle that “ought implies can”, which implies that the magnitude of the difficulty involved in abstaining f

Surface Studies by Low-Energy Electron Diffraction and Reflection High-Energy-Electron Diffraction

In this chapter, we present the basic concepts of the low-energy electron diffraction (LEED) and reflection high-energy electron diffraction (RHEED) experiments. The main goal is to provide an overview of the exploitation of these instrumental methods for analyzing the surfaces of technologically important III–V compound semiconductors. In particular, the interpretation of LEED and RHEED patterns

Conclusions: How to stimulate creative knowledge environments

In this chapter, we first elaborate on the discussion of the nature of CKEs that has taken place in the previous chapters in the book. Secondly, we summarise the main lessons we have learnt about CKEs from the studies reported in this book. Thirdly, we identify and analyse what circumstances and conditions promote creativity in organisations and which ones hinder it. We also identify some of the m

Experimental Investigations of Lean Stability Limits of a Prototype Syngas Burner for Low Calorific Value Gases

The lean stability limit of a prototype syngas burner is investigated. The burner is a three sector system, consisting of a separate igniter, stabilizer and Main burner. The ignition sector, Rich-Pilot-Lean (RPL), can be operated with both rich or lean equivalence values, and serves to ignite the Pilot sector which stabilizes the Main combustion sector. The RPL and Main sectors are fully premixed,

Mobile lidar system for environmental probing

A fully mobile remote-sensing system based on the lidar principle is described. With this system, atmospheric probing using Mie scattering, differential absorption, or Raman techniques can be performed yielding information on atmospheric pollutants or general atmospheric parameters. The system incorporates a powerful Nd:YAG laser pumping a dye laser and is equipped with a fixed Newtonian telescope
