Innovation Diffusion in the Construction Sector

Forskning kring innovationer i byggandet har mött ett ökat intresse deInnovation and development are the backbone of a thriving market economy. It is through innovations of various kinds that nations, industries and companies compete. Many actions in areas internationally and nationally will affect the construction sector. Research into construction innovation has attracted increasing interest. There have been studies ranging from how national research policies supp

Interactions of cyclic AMP and its dibutyryl analogue with a lipid layer in the aqueous mixtures of monoolein preparation and dioleoyl phosphatidylcholine as probed by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy

Interactions of adenosine 3':5'-cyclic monophosphate (cAMP) and N-6,2'-O-dibutyryl-adenosine 3':5'-cyclic monophosphate (dbcAMP) with a lipid layer composed of monoolein-based preparation and dioleoyl phosphatidylcholine ( DOPC) were investigated by small-angle X-ray diffraction (SAXD) and Raman spectroscopy. The reversed hexagonal (H-II) MO/DOPC/H2O phase of 65:15:20 wt.% composition was selected

Purification, crystallization, and preliminary X-ray analysis of Bacillus subtilis ferrochelatase

Bacillus subtilis ferrochelatase (EC 4.99.1.1), the final enzyme in protoheme IX biosynthesis, was produced with an inducible T7 RNA polymerase expression system in Escherichia coli and purified from the soluble cell fraction. It was crystallized from polyethylene glycol solution using the microseeding technique. The crystals diffract to a minimum Bragg spacing of 2.1 A. The space group is P4(2) w

Evolution of the imaging tests in hemophilia with emphasis on radiography and magnetic resonance imaging

Even before the discovery of X-rays in 1895 attempts were being made to classify the joint destruction that occurs in hemophilic arthropathy. The advent of radiography added impetus to the search for the optimum classification system. Subsequent attempts have included advanced imaging methods, especially magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Because of its high spatial resolution and ability to Visual

Intraventricular Infusion of TrkB-Fc Fusion Protein Promotes Ischemia-Induced Neurogenesis in Adult Rat Dentate Gyrus.

Background and Purpose-We have previously shown that delivery of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) through direct intrahippocampal gene transduction with a viral vector suppresses the formation of new dentate granule cells triggered by global forebrain ischemia. Here, we investigated whether inhibition of endogenous BDNF alters ischemia-induced neurogenesis in the dentate gyrus. Methods-Rat

A new liquid-phase microextraction method based on solidification of floating organic drop

In the present study, a new and versatile liquid-phase microextraction method is described. This method requires very simple and cheap apparatus and also a small amount of organic solvent. Eight microliters of 1-undecanol was delivered to the surface of solution containing analytes and solution was stirred for a desired time. Then sample vial was cooled by inserting it into an ice bath for 5 min.

Evaluating Motivational Factors Involved at Different Stages in an IS Outsourcing Decision Process

This study evaluates factors involved at different stages in an IS outsourcing decision process. From a theoretical perspective, the motivation for IS outsourcing is often described as a result of three factors: cost reduction, access to technological expertise and focus on core competence. The aim of this paper is to evaluate motivational factors in an outsourcing decision process. The study uses

Business Angels in a Changing Economy: The Case of Sweden

The Swedish business angel market of 2004 is presented and compared to that of 1992 in order to determine the significance of the time factor. The presentation is carried out against the background of the macroeconomic changes that have taken place and how they have affected the informal venture capital market. The empirical findings reveal how the amounts invested have changed, which companies th

On fast Birkhoff averaging

We study the pointwise behavior of Birkhoff sums S(n)phi(x) on subshifts of finite type for Holder continuous functions phi. In particular, we show that for a given equilibrium state mu associated to a Holder continuous potential, there are points x such that S(n)phi(x) - nE(mu)phi similar to an(beta) for any a > 0 and 0 < beta < 1. Actually the Hausdorff dimension of the set of such points is bou

Calculation of moisture transport and the necessary material data : Nordic symposium, January 28-29 1991 Ystad, Sweden

This was the second nordic seminar on moisture transport. The first meeting was held in Kopenhagen-Lyngby in 1989. The majority of the researchers who met in Ystad works with building materials at Technical Institutes or Universities in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. We discussed different aspects of moisture transport, including: • non-isothermal conditions • moisture flow at surfaces • dif

Rhodamine B, a fluorescent probe for acidic organelles in denervated skeletal muscle

We describe a very efficient method for fluorescent labeling of acidic structures in denervated skeletal muscle with rhodamine B. Rhodamine B at 50 ng/ml gave selective and distinct segmental labeling of denervated muscle fibers after 5-min incubation at room temperature. Labeling was also achieved at 4 degrees C. The labeling was disrupted by the ionophores monensin and nigericin, suggesting a la
