Quantification of parameters of a simple dynamic glucose-insulin model was performed. Measured data from seven test subjects were used. The Model was simulated by SIMNON and optimized by OPTA. The results are presented and their validity are discussed. Some problems when using OPTA are given account for.
This report describes an interactive program which performs computations on data files. The basic idea is that the user describes the computations by writing statements (similar to SIMNON statements) in a file. These statements are compiled and a pseudo code is created. Different models of the solids-liquid separation in an activated sludge system are presented. The influence from the solids-liquid separator on the biological activities in the aeration tank is examined. The dynamics of the different separator models is discussed. Two simple control strategies for sludge removal has been tried out.
