Vasodilator actions of EDHF and anandamide

Den tredjeVasodilator responses to endothelium-derived hyperpolarizing factor (EDHF) and anandamide in isolated arteries were investigated. A combination of the potassium channel blockers charybdotoxin and apamin inhibits EDHF-mediated relaxations. Experiments in which charybdotoxin or apamin was substituted with other potassium channel inhibitors indicated that small- and intermediate-conductance calcium-a

Multiple window decomposition of time-frequency kernels using a penalty function for suppressed sidelobes

This paper presents multiple windows with suppressed side-lobes that approximate a time-frequency kernel. The multiple windows are given from the eigenvalue decomposition of the time-lag kernel. By using a penalty matrix both in time- and frequency domain and solving a generalized eigenvalue problem, the multiple windows are achieved. Examples are given and the resulting sidelobe suppression and t

Avhandlingen utgår från fem The aim of this dissertation was to examine the legitimacy and the legitimizing of compulsory care for substance abusers according to LVM. For this purpose I have conducted, recorded and transcribed qualitative interviews with 80 clients – taken into such care in spring 2006 – and their social welfare officers when the clients were in compulsory care and then again about six months after its termi

Gas imaging by infrared gas-correlation spectrometry

We describe a new method for visualization of gas flows based on infrared absorption and gas-correlation techniques. This result is a gray-scale or false color-coded image showing the distribution of a specific gas in the area studied. A sequence of images showing the workplace test setup with a turbulent flowing gas is presented.

Construction(s) of Swedish Family Policy, 1930-2000

Family politics has been important in the development of the Swedish ‘women-friendly’ and weak breadwinner welfare state. This article analyses the development of Swedish family politics during the last century by taking as its point of departure the amalgamation of political ambitions, social reforms, and ideas put forward by experts in government commissions. Results suggest that the social scie

Towards Efficient Call Admission Control Criterion for State-Dependent Routing in Multirate Networks

We consider a link serving multiple service classes. We evaluate the properties of the link admission control policies that are obtained from an efficient scheme proposed by Krishnan and Hubner (1997). The Krishnan and Hubner approach suggests efficient calculations of state-dependent routing criteria for multi-rate networks through state-space aggregation. Through simple examples we show that it

Customer perceived service quality in the supermarket and the discount store. Examination of a service quality measurement scale in a Swedish context

Service has traditionally been a forceful competitive tool in grocery retailing. Lately discount stores has proven to be a winning concept within North European grocery re-tailing and this has evoked a renewed interest in service quality and grocery retailing. The overall aim of this study is to enhance the understanding of customer perceived service quality within grocery retailing, by testing a

The 14-3-3 protein family - Conserved structure, diverse functions

While once abstruse, 14-3-3 proteins are now well known as players in several cellular processes. These processes range from apoptosis and mitosis in mammals and yeast, to regulation of primary metabolism in plants. To date, 104 proteins have been shown to interact with 14-3-3s of which 85 are found in mammals and yeast, and 21 are found in plants. Their consensus action is to bind to phosphorylat
