Factors affecting performance of fetal blood T2 measurements for noninvasive estimation of oxygen saturation

PurposeTo ultimately make accurate and precise fetal noninvasive oxygen saturation (sO2) measurements by T2-prepared bSSFP more widely available by systematically assessing error sources in order to potentially reduce perinatal mortality in cardiovascular malformations and fetal growth restriction.MethodsT2-prepared bSSFP data were acquired in phantoms; in flowing blood in adults in the superior s

Geographical and sociodemographic differences in statin dispensation after acute myocardial infarction in Sweden : a register-based prospective cohort study applying analysis of individual heterogeneity and discriminatory accuracy (AIHDA) for basic comparisons of healthcare quality

BACKGROUND: In Sweden, as in many other countries, official monitoring of healthcare quality is mostly focused on geographical disparities in relation to a desirable benchmark. However, current evaluations could be improved by considering: (1) The intersection of other relevant axes of inequity like age, sex, income and migration status; and (2) The existence of individual heterogeneity around ave

What Is Infrastructural Meaning-Making and Why Do We Need It?

Social media, search engines, and recommendation systems provide a constant stream of data that shapes our knowledge, beliefs and decisions. We are constantly presented with content from a variety of sources, often without context. This content gets amalgamated into new constellations in the feeds, lists and streams we encounter (and sometime curate) on our devices. With the rise of consumer-facin

Managing harmful floor emissions including 2-ethylhexanol by using an emissions barrier

The present communication describes the use of an emissions barrier to prevent spread of hydrolysis products from plastizisers in plastic mats and from the glue used to attach such mats onto a concrete slab. In particular, 2-ethylhexanol was focussed at. Elevated air concentrations of 2-ethylhexanol has been associated with a range of health symptoms such as e.g. cough, airways irritation, fatique

A spatially constrained QCD colour reconnection in pp , p A , and AA collisions in the Pythia8/Angantyr model

We present an updated version of the QCD-based colour reconnection model in Pythia8, where we constrain the range in impact parameter for which reconnections are allowed. In this way, we can introduce more realistic colour reconnections in the Angantyr model for heavy ion collisions, where previously only reconnections within separate nucleon sub-collisions have been allowed. We investigate how th

Spectrally Tunable Broadband Gate-All-Around InAsP/InP Quantum Discs-in-Nanowire Array Phototransistors with a High Gain-Bandwidth Product

High-performance broadband photodetectors offering spectral tunability and a high gain-bandwidth product are crucial in many applications. Here, we report on a detailed experimental and theoretical study of three-terminal phototransistors comprised of three million InP nanowires with 20 embedded InAsP quantum discs in each nanowire. A global, transparent ITO gate all around the nanowires facilitat

Predicting Cybersecurity Threats in Critical Infrastructure for Industry 4.0: A Proactive Approach Based on Attacker Motivations

In Industry 4.0, manufacturing and critical systems require high levels of flexibility and resilience for dynamic outcomes. Industrial Control Systems (ICS), specifically Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, are commonly used for operation and control of Critical Infrastructure (CI). However, due to the lack of security controls, standards, and proactive security measures in t

Flexitarian and vegetarian diets are of growing interest in France. While the nutritional profiles of individuals with high intakes of plant products are well characterized, exposure to pesticide residues and chemical contaminants are less documented. Moreover, higher consumption of organic products has been associated with higher consumption of plant products. Organic agriculture differs from its

Combination of 1D laterally constrained inversion and 2D smooth inversion of resistivity data with a priori data from boreholes

Resistivity imaging in combination with borehole information is a powerful tool for site investigation. We show that the combination of 1D laterally constrained inversion (1D-LCI) with the use of a priori information from borehole data and 2D smooth inversion adds significant value to the interpretation of continuous vertical electrical sounding (CVES) data. The 1D-LCI offers an analysis of the re

Novel electrode design for non-destructive resistivity measurement on material in geotechnical standard sample cylinders

We present a novel design of an electrode arrangement for measurement of the resistivity of soil samples contained in a sample cylinder used in standard geotechnical site investigations in Sweden. The objective is to make it possible to measure the resistivity of the same samples that are to be used for mechanical tests, without disturbing the samples in order to get unbiased mechanical test data.

Is there any criminal law protection for exploited migrant workers in Sweden? Logics of criminal law and the labour migration regime

The exploitation of migrant workers is widespread in the Nordic countries in labour intensive sectors. This article investigates whether there is any criminal law protection in practice for exploited migrant workers in Sweden. On the basis of descriptive statistics regarding the outcomes of criminal investigations on human trafficking for forced labour and on human exploitation for forced labour aThe exploitation of migrant workers is widespread in the Nordic countries in labour intensive sectors. Learner–environment adaptations in multiple language learning : casing the ideal multilingual self as a system functioning in context

Multiple language learning has been largely neglected in L2 motivation research. Recently, complexity principles have been used to model multilingual motivation. In this work, multilingual self-guides are conceptualised as emergent from interactions between the motivation systems of different languages. Motivational systems and their emergent properties are also influenced by the contexts in which

Forging new frontiers in sustainable food manufacturing

One of the most prominent challenges commonly acknowledged by modern manufacturing industries is “how to produce more with fewer resources?” Nowhere is this more true than in the food sector due to the recent concerns regarding the long-term availability and security of food products. The unique attributes of food products such as the need for fresh perishable ingredients, health risks associated

In vivo cortical glutathione response to oral fumarate therapy in relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis : A single-arm open-label phase IV trial using 7-Tesla 1H MRS

BACKGROUND: This is an open-label, single-arm, single-center pilot study using 7-Tesla in vivo proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H MRS) to measure brain cortical glutathione concentration at baseline before and during the use of oral fumarates as a disease-modifying therapy for multiple sclerosis. The primary endpoint of this research was the change in prefrontal cortex glutathione concentr
