Optimized Codebook Based Hybrid Beamforming

In this thesis we research beamforming capabilities of the UEs equipped with several antennas in a 5G scenario. We define a system model based on the use of phase codebooks that allow to change the radiation patterns of the arrays of antennas installed in the UE. Within this system model, we obtain optimized codebooks in terms of two metrics, which we consider to be of interest in this scenario, e

Object Detection in Augmented Reality

Augmented reality is a field which is getting increased funding every year, as more businesses are realizing the potential of rendering virtual objects in the real world. As the equipment gets more commercialized, the costs will get lowered while performance also goes up. As of now, augmented reality mostly makes use of plane detection and marker detection to find and locate objects. We want to in

Acknowledging, the research gap within sustainability transitions in analysing the local scale of transition processes, this work primarily, seeks to contribute to sustainability transitions studies by identifying the main factors that are enabling and hindering the materialization of low carbon mobility in Cuenca, Ecuador. The use of a case study as a research strategy and the nature of the rese

Case study at Scania: How packaging options affect supply chain operations and costs

Background/introduction: Scania supply chain is responsible for packaging to protect parts during transportation from their suppliers around the world. For many years Scania has used returnable packaging for inbound logistics of automotive parts. Scania packaging can be divided into two groups; namely Standard packaging and Special packaging. Problem description: When introducing a newer solution

Eigenfrequency Optimization of Nonlinear Hyperelastic Structures using Low Density Element Removal

Topology optimization with respect to eigenfrequencies is one example of an objective that has been studied extensively for small deformations. Few have however investigated this type of optimization for structures undergoing finite deformations. In this work, we thus expand the topology optimization formulations for eigenfrequency optimization to a nonlinear hyperelastic material model. When wo

Media construction of suffering : Nepalese print media role in representing suffering of earthquake victims

In crisis, media plays an important role in connecting people, communicating information and assisting with potential new dimensions, designs and approach. Media representation holds key for ongoing rescue program and upcoming rebuilding program, especially in developing countries where no one knows when the real impact of disaster will come to an end. Moreover, people interest or participation in

A Conservative Discretization of a Hamiltonian System

The reaction–diffusion equation (RDE) is a natural way of describing a system where there is not only diffusion but also interaction with its surroundings. The RDE has been the topic of interest in previous papers for its usefulness of explaining pattern formations in nature. The static RDE has, in one dimension, the form of a Newton equation. We study a discretized version of this equation, with

Stable Communication Over a Wireless Network Under Heavy Load

Vi utförde sedermera tester på kombinationer av dessa mediumFor our master's thesis we have worked with a company called Uniti to help them establish a system for communicating with their autonomous vehicle during a public demonstration. This included handling a video feed from the vehicle as well as assuring low latency for said feed. For the purposes of this thesis the targeted latency was below 200ms. In order to construct a solution which met our

Categorizing Software Defects using Machine Learning

We analyze how automatically generated crash reports can be used to aid in the process of software defect categorization. The crash reports are automatically generated logs, which vary widely in both format and in information content. Each crash report used is linked to its corresponding, human-written bug report. The problem is handled as a long text-based classification problem. Several differe

Audio representation for environmental sound classification using convolutional neural networks

A convolutional neural network (CNN) training framework is described and implemented. The framework is used to train and evaluate an audio classification system, focused on evaluating differences in audio representation. The dataset used is ESC-50, containing 50 different classes of audio. We used SBCNN, a promising architecture suited for embedded systems because of its relatively small size. Sev

Motion Event Recognition Using User Feedback

With high associated costs, both in terms of time and economics, false alarms are a ubiquitous problem in camera surveillance. There exists many methods of lowering the rate of false alarms from motion detection, most of which are based around using static rules and filters such as area of interest, cross-line detection and filtering of swaying objects. This thesis explores the possibilities of us

6 § FBL. Det är viktThe purpose of this master thesis is to examine how property formation for agricultural purposes can be accommodated to the modern-day agriculture. Agricultural holdings in the size ranges 15-30 and 30-100 hectares are declining rapidly in Sweden. It was common that agriculturalists in Helsingborg municipality that had an agricultural holding in the size range of 30-100 hectares had a hard time t

Denna studie syftar till att undersöka vilken roll det digitala vårdverktyget TripleA fyller i åtta användares liv i relation till deras missbDigital technology in the addiction care sector and the user’s experiences of this is a relatively unexplored area, and stigmatization of substance dependence, in this case alcoholism, constitutes an obstacle for individuals to seek help and to maintain sobriety. This study aims to investigating the role of the digital care tool TripleA in the lives of eight users in relation to their addiction, a
