I am a postdoctoral researcher working on the visual modes of language. Currently, I am leading a project entitled "Gestures in spoken and signed discourse" in which we compare the production of gestures in two languages differing in the modality production: German and German Sign Language (DGS). The goal is to shed more light onto the relationship between gestures and language on the discourse level and to further our understanding of the multimodality of language more generally.
