Following our reading seminar on Oskar Miyamoto's PhD thesis on Oct 3, where we struggled to understand Peircian "phenoroscopy" - which he uses instead of "phenomenology", we have decided that we need to do some more reading. So we have picked 2 texts: the first from the late Göran Sonesson, where he quite pedagogically explains how (in his view) Husserl's phenomenology is more basic (and more empirical) than Peirce's version. I will lead the discussion here. For the second text by Atkins on Peirce, I will be relying on help from Manuel Penaloza, who is now taking an MA course in cognitive semiotics, but has previously taught Husserl and Peirce in Chile!
