Since 2011 I have been very much involved in the administration of English and the Centre for Languages and Literature. I uded to be Director of Studies for English at Lund University. I am currently head of Section 4 (English and German) at the Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL) and coordinator of teacher education at SOL.
I have mainly developed and taught courses in grammar, linguistics and academic writing. I have also been involved in various ESP courses.
SInce 2010, I have been more or less involved in the development of AWELU (Academic Writing in English at Lund University, www.lu.se/awelu), an electronic platform intended to help people improve their academic writing.
I have also been part of the Lund University foundation year project.
In the Research Portal you can search and find information about all active researchers, units, publications, projects, infrastructures, and more, to get an overview of Lund University research.
My profile in Lund University research portal- Head of Section at Section 4
- Chairperson, Board of Section 4, Centre for Languages and Literature
- Member, The Board, Centre for Languages and Literature
I consider it important that university teachers and their teaching develop continually. It is therefore necessary that teachers are given the opportunity to do so.
To begin with, it is important to change the way that people regard teaching and the status it has in the academic world, so that pedagical skills and the will to develop as a teacher will finally be regarded as highly as research-related skills and achievements.
Moreover, it is important that that all university teachers do research, and that all researchers teach. University teachers must do research in order to keep developping, but it is also the case that successful researchers must teach, so that knowledge about new findings and ideas, as well as the general research perspective, is spread to the students, since this will raise the general level of the education that we offer.
Finally, it is important that university teachers are encouraged to take part in pedagogical education directed to university teachers. These courses provide the opportunity to compare one's experiences with other teachers' experiences, to reflect on one's teaching and teaching methods, and to be inspired by relevant pedagogical literature and dedicated course leaders.
I have uploaded the "pedagogical development plan" that I wrote as part of the continuation course in university pedagogics that I took during the autumn term of 2009. Hopefully, this plan can be used to illustrate some of my points above (unfortunatley, the plan is in Swedish).
