I am an Associate Professor of Spanish with a focus on literary studies, and I primarily teach Spanish and Latin American literature and film.

In recent years, my research has focused on two main areas: contemporary Spanish literature, particularly the political and critical works that have emerged in the wake of Spain's social and economic crisis, and comparative studies of literature in Spain—literature written in Spanish, Catalan, Basque, and Galician. I am the editor of the recently published Novela postcrisis en la España plurilingüe (2024) and previously for España comparada: Literatura, lengua y política en la cultura contemporánea (2022) and Narrativas precarias: Crisis y subjetividad en la cultura española actual (2019).

I earned my Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures with a focus on 20th- and 21st-century Latin American literature at Harvard University in 2009, with a dissertation titled The Role of the Author in Juan Carlos Onetti and Juan José Saer.
