Head of section

I am Associate Professor in Swedish Linguistics. I teach courses in text- and discourse analysis, sociolinguistics and intercultural communication and supervise students at all levels.

My main line of research right now is research in political discourse. I'm involved in a European project about the discourses of the supporters of right wing populist parties.

I take a special interest in research about language use and health. 2015–2018 I worked with the research project Metaphors in Palliative Cancer Care. 2021-2022 I was part of two Advanced Study Groups at the Pufendorf Institute: Reading and Health and Enhancing Empathy and Compassion. Since 2022, I am a fellow at the Birgit Rausing Centre for Medical Humanities.

I have a broad interest in words, texts and interaction in society. Recently, I studied word knowledge in the Swedish SAT-tests, and at the moment I am involved in a project about Shared reading.

I am Head of section and Coordinator of the Language Consultancy program.
