I am a doctoral student in Cognitive Semiotics at Lund University. My primary research interests focus on meaning-making in various semiotic systems such as language, gestures, pictures, and their combinations (polysemiosis). In my doctoral project, I am working on the concept of semiotic irony, examining how irony is expressed and perceived when one or multiple semiotic systems are involved. Moreover, I am interested in different contexts of irony use. For example, among members of the same or different groups and in political discourse.

In addition to my main research interests, I follow research in second language acquisition, drawing on my background in pedagogy and teaching English and Russian as second languages. I have several years of experience as a second language teacher, working both in Sweden and abroad.
