I hold a PhD in Screen and Media Culture and Literature in Spanish from University of Melbourne with a thesis on the cinema of Pedro Almodóvar and Ventura Pons. Over the course of my career I have taught film studies, film theory, and/or Spanish and Italian language and culture at University of Melbourne, Monash University (Monash Training and Professional Development), Auckland University (Centre for Continuing Education), and the international partnership HBU-UCLan School of Media, Communication & Creative Industries.

I take an interdisciplinary interest in film and media studies, cultural studies, philosophy, film festivals, language, literature and translation. 2024 marks the 50-year anniversary since the release of Almodóvar's first "cortometraje", a special exhibition is hosted by Madrid, and I intend to finally publish my doctoral thesis as a monograph. I look forward to lecturing in Spanish film, language, literature and culture at SOL and to meeting my students!
