I’m a doctoral student in English Linguistics. I hold a Bachelor’s and aMaster’s degree (One Year) in English Linguistics from Lund University. I also havea minor in Psychology. My research interest lies in the field ofcognitive-functional linguistics, as does my PhD-project.
This project focuses on the functions of the interpersonal expressions quite, rather, pretty and fairly incontemporary British English. The study is corpus based , and it seeks tounderstand how these functions are realised linguistically in spoken andwritten communication where multifunctionality can lead to misinterpretation oroveruse of certain expressions. This is particularly the case with quite, which can occur in more or less complex constructions.
My other research interests:
- Corpus linguistics
- Development of learning and teaching in Higher Education, especially of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and accessibility in teaching
- Sociolinguistics
- Historical linguistics
In the Research Portal you can search and find information about all active researchers, units, publications, projects, infrastructures, and more, to get an overview of Lund University research.
My profile in Lund University research portalI have worked as an English Tutor in Cambridge Education Group as well as a Language and Study Consultant at the Academic Support Centre, Lund University.
