I'm a Scandinavianist and an associate professor in film studies at Lund University, where I explore the intersections of ecocriticism, ecocinema, and sustainable film and TV production, particularly within the Nordic countries and the Baltic Sea region. Before joining Lund in 2022, I held positions as an assistant and associate professor in film studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań from 2009 to 2023. I also had the pleasure of being a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Copenhagen from 2010 to 2012, and in 2021–22, I was a visiting Fulbright scholar and associate professor at the Department of Scandinavian Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle.

My research has led me to publish various books and articles on Danish and Nordic cinemas, television series, and literature. One of my most significant works is the monograph Beyond Eastern Noir: Reimagining Russia and Eastern Europe in Nordic Cinemas, published by Edinburgh University Press in 2018.
