I teach a variety of courses from undergraduate to master's levels, and regularly participate in interdisciplinary collaborations and teacher training courses. Iam committed to international cooperation, enjoy teaching international students in courses like Swedish Film, and have participated as an Erasmus lecturer in Poland, Spain, and Germany. As a former director of studies and coordinator for the teacher education programme, I have initiated projects to promote film studies writing and visual expressions such as video essays.

My research focuses on contemporary European film/TV — frequently Spanish, Italian, and German — cultural memory, adaptations, historical films, and intermediality. I seek to enhance opportunities for meetings and exchanges in Nordic film research, i.e.as founder and primary editor of Journal of Scandinavian Cinema and as initiator and organizer of the Lübeck Film Studies Colloquium, an international forum on Nordic film during the Lübeck film festival.
