Applying for studies

Applying for courses and programmes

Sweden has a pooled admissions system from where you apply to all courses and programmes at Swedish universities: www.universityadmissions.se or www.antagning.se

Most freestanding courses, and programmes instructed in Swedish, are announced in the second admission round, at the Swedish site, antagning.se, while our international master's programmes, and some of the international courses are announced in the first admission round, at the international counterpart universityadmissions.se. Some alternatives are announced in both admission rounds. Find more information about key dates at universityadmissions.se.

All programmes at SOL start in the autumn semester. As an international student, you are encouraged to apply in the first admission round (by January 15). This gives you time to pay tuition fees, apply for residence permit, find housing, etc. The second admission round can be an alternative for students from EU/EEA countries as they do not need a residence permit. Apply for the programme in the second admission round at Antagning.se by April 15th. But please note that this site is in Swedish and that you need to seek information for international students on your own.

Note, that all freestanding courses are not given each semester. Find more information under each course.  If we expect to be able to admit more students for a specific programme or course after the application deadline, the application opens again after the first selection. Find information about late application here: Courses open for late application

Students studying at one of our partner universities with a formal bilateral student exchange agreement have the opportunity to be nominated by their home university for an exchange period at Lund University. As an exchange student, you apply for courses directly to Lund University. Find information at lunduniversity.lu.se.
In some programmes, you need to apply for the courses each semester at the Swedish site antagning.se. Ask your programme coordinator or your study counsellor if you are unsure if it applies to your programme.
Our international master's programmes at SOL start in the autumn semester, and last day for application is January 15.
