Chinese (Modern Languages)

The Chinese language specialisation meets the needs of students seeking to improve the level of their spoken and written Chinese. It offers them an opportunity to engage in advanced language study by way of guided readings and advanced content-analysis of primary-source texts from within China’s press, propaganda, and intelligence sectors concerning key aspects of information management, e.g. collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination. Once they have successfully completed the course, they will have a solid competence and competitive edge in Modern Standard Chinese, as well as good oral and written communication skills.
