Education

The Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL) is Sweden’s largest research and teaching environment for languages, literature, film, theatre and area studies. It is home to over 30 subjects, some of which are unique to Lund.

Here at SOL, you can choose between 450 freestanding courses and around ten degree programmes. Programme studies are more directed and cohesive than studies on freestanding courses. You can combine freestanding courses yourself in order to tailor your studies according to your profile. Whatever you choose, your studies can lead to a university degree.

Quality and employability

For us, students’ employability is important and several of our programmes offer opportunities for exchanges and internships both in Sweden and abroad.

At SOL, scholarly knowledge and student influence are central and our outstanding research naturally benefits students through high-quality teaching. Within the walls of SOL, there is also room for a large student library and an innovative humanities laboratory.
