The course provides students with knowledge of the morphology, syntax and vocabulary of Yiddish that goes beyond that of the beginner’s level. Students increase their oral and written proficiency primarily by means of translating literature and video recordings.
The course consists of the following modules:
1. Grammar, reading comprehension and translation, 5 credits
2. Oral and written language proficiency, 5 credits
3. History of language and literature, 5 credits
