The course is the first module of the level 1 course in Ukrainian and is given online.
The course is the first sub-course of the level 1 course in Ukrainian. It builds on the Beginners' Course II. The course provides continuous training in practical language skills with a focus on both written and oral production. In addition, students practice reading and understanding simpler Ukrainian texts, as well as identifying and analyzing basic grammatical structures and sentence patterns in various types of texts.
This is a distance learning course using the learning platform Canvas, with online seminars over Zoom. You need access to a computer with internet connection, webcam, and a headset throughout the semester.

General requirements and Ukrainian: Beginners' Course I and II (15+15 credits), Ukrainian 3 from high school or the equivalent knowledge.
