Course
Course 7.5 credits • NODB02
Danish language use and norms are analysed in both oral and
written language with regard to grammar, style, orthography
and idiomatics. A number of key Danish literary works, and
non literary works, are discussed with an aim of placing the
Danish language in an historical, social and cultural context.
Examples of early and contemporary written language are
taken from various texts. An important part of the course
consists of translation from Danish into Swedish. In
connection to this, theories of translation and examples of
translations are discussed.
