Literature-Culture-Media: German Literature After the Wall
The course focuses on a number of key post-Wall German novels, especially novels from the 1990s which directly or indirectly highlight historical events after the fall of the Wall and the German reunification. The novels are studied in detail against the background of the political and societal situation after the reunification, addressing especially issues of constructing a new German identity and dealing with the past.
The course is an elective component of the Master of Arts programme in Literature – Culture – Media. It is also offered as a freestanding course.
