Course 7.5 credits • LINN27
Teaching – spring semester 2021
The Covid-19 pandemic continues to affect our education and most of the teaching must take place completely digitally until further notice. Pay attention to the information in the schedule and/or in Canvas – the information is continuously adjusted based on current decisions and recommendations.
The course deals with language production in writing from a linguistic perspective. The student is trained in recording and analysing writing by hand and on computer. Writing processes are related to linguistic aspects, such as morphologic and syntactic complexity, lexicon and text structure, and are analysed by means of psycholinguistic, cognitive and sociocultural theories on writing and language production. Further, the course deals with differences in language production processes between speaking and writing, and discusses this in relation to linguistic ability and linguistic development.
