This course introduces the linguistic student to research methods and methodological issues, and prepares the student for writing an essay on B.A. level. The course includes methodological issues such as formulating research questions, the difference between quantitative and qualitative methods, inductive and deductive methods, and ethical questions. During the course, you will practice some common linguistic methods for collecting and analyzing data. The focus of the course lies on describing and motivating methodological choices.

Eligibility:
To be admitted to the course, students must have passed LINA24, Linguistics: Level 2 or 90 credits of which 60 credits must be in a language discipline, or the equivalent.
