Survey course in British literature and literary criticism, 15 credit points (half a term's study). Prose, poetry and drama from the Renaissance to Modernism. The students read a selection of critical articles/book chapters in connection with their study of the literary works. Tuition: The emphasis is on group discussion in twice-weekly seminars, exclusively in English. Examination: A set paper and five short response papers.
