SOL’s workshop for VR grant writing, part II
Welcome to SOL’s workshop for VR grant writing!
The workshop is arranged by Mikael Roll and divided into two meetings.
The workshop aims to further enhance the quality and competitiveness of VR project applications from SOL. Any project idea from any subject at SOL is warmly welcome. The workshop is divided into two meetings with a deadline in between:
- On November 15, 2023, 10:00 to 11:30 in SOL:H140, I will give some general information and we will discuss your project ideas. Please prepare a project idea or bring a previous project that has been rejected.
- January 18, 2024, is the deadline to send me a draft outlined in accordance with VR’s instructions. I will distribute the draft to another workshop group member. Do your best to produce a draft that looks like a ready application. Try to see this as your deadline rather than VR’s hard deadline. We will then read one peer’s proposal each and evaluate it closely following VR’s evaluation criteria. A few sentences will be written down for each point so as to fully cover the evaluation criteria. The evaluation process serves two purposes. First, it provides you with feedback from someone not familiar with your topic. Second, evaluating someone else's application helps you understand the evaluation criteria and identify areas for improvement in your own project.
- On January 26, 2024, 13:00 to 15:00 in LUX:B339, we will meet again and give feedback to each other and have some general discussion. This will give you enough time to digest the feedback and rewrite your top-notch project application before VR’s deadline.
Remember that we do not really compete against each other. It is fully possible to get several projects to SOL.
I look forward to seeing you!
Mikael Roll
